Day 5

Today we woke up at 7:00am after a very late night. We were all so tired, especially Frankie and Grace, they both fell asleep on the on the way to the school. When we got to the school we met Ornella out side and then we got on the coach. It was very cosy the coach and we quickly started or adventure to Siena. The trip was very long but the sights were amazing.

When we arrived we visited one of the oldest patisseries in Italy and watched how they make lots of sweet treats. Grace was invited to try and make the biscuits and did an excellent job. They tased delicious and were well worth the wait from the oven.
After that we went to big church museum it was like a Disney princess castle. How cool.  In fact it as the duomo (cathedral) of Siena. The cathedral was utterly beautiful inside with lots of grand, yet intracate decorations. There was a large carved pulpit with spiral stairs leading to the top - it was very different to the pulpits we get in England. We then lit a candle and prayed for those who we love! Next to were we lit the candles there was a pray space which was very peaceful - we sat quietly - it was very calming!

Once we had visited gazing at the sights in the cathedral we took another trip to the countryside of Siena and visited a farmhouse agriturismo and had homemade pasta for lunch followed by pork and potatoes and dessert was chocolate mousse. Everything was perfect. Frankie had seconds- of course.  Miss Bell thinks she has hollow legs!!!

We then took a trip to Mrs Thompsons favourite place in the world - San Gimignano! We didn't have long but we loved it. The town has 12 towers and the buildings were gorgeous. The views from the top were breathtaking.

After an extremely long day we were dropped off bear Florence and got the bus back to the hotel. We were wiped out!!!!! Time for Zzzzzzzzz!  While Mrs Norton helped us to start the difficult task of packing our cases, Miss Bell popped out for take away pizzas which we sat and are in our Pjs!

What a day! It's our final day tomorrow- we can't believe the week has gone so quickly.

To everyone, miss you all but having a fab time. Can't wait to get back home and see you all! Looking forward to going shopping on Friday!!!! Lots of love Keira. Xxxxxx thanks for the comments nana! Love you. Xxx

Photos day 4

Day 4.

Today we woke up at 8am as we were allowed an extra HOUR sleep. This was because everyone was meeting in Florence instead of Campi . We left the hotel room at 8.30 after our lovely breakfast downstairs. Of course, Frankie got chocolate all over her face, again!!! After we had all finished, we all walked back up to the room and finished getting ready. At 9am we left the hotel and started to walk to the main square where there is a replica of the statue of David. When we arrived there, with everybody else, we went for a wonderful cup of hot chocolate. It tasted very different to our hot chocolate back home as it was a lot sweeter. With our hot chocolate we had some of the cafés chocolates. Yum!! After everyone had finnished their chocolate, we walked across the square to the museum. By this time it was starting to rain and it became heavier and heavier! But we soon had shelter in the town hall. We were taken on a tour and it was very interesting. The guide showed us all of the rooms that the Royal Family of Florence lived in a long time ago. We even got to meet the Duchess, but, of course there was no Duchess there so we had to travel back in time. She was very strict and when she came walking in, everyone had to curtsey or bow.  When Frankie asked her question about what type of perfume the Duchess used, she told Frankie to come up and see her. She said that Frankie's clothing was like a boys. She decided to dress her  up in something a bit more lady like.

After we had been on our adventure, we went for something to eat. We had pizza but unfortunately Miss Bell and Mrs Norton were forgotten about so by the time we had finnished ours they were just getting theirs. The pizza was beautiful and we were all full after we had eaten it. After lunch, we went on a walk to an ice cream parlour. More food!!! We were shown what happens behind the scenes and how they make ice cream. We then got to try. It was banana flavoured and it was delicious. Mmmm! Then the man gave us some of the ice cream he had made before hand. This one was chocolate and it was very tasty as well. Yum!!

Later on, we walked to a museum (Academia) where the real statue of David is kept, but first we had to go through security. When we did eventually get inside, we all looked up to it in amazement at how Michaelangelo managed to create his many master pieces. The art work was breathtaking; Madonna and child was one of our favourites. We weren't allowed to take any photographs we were told this was because it would ruin the colour of the pictures. One of the other pieces of art was of Jesus' death. The painting of Jesus told the story of his life and how he came to die on the cross. A very powerful piece. When we were finnished looking around, we had a quick look in the gift shop and we went straight home. The weather was horrible. It was still raining!! We were starting to get quite cold and we were all very tired but it didn't dampen our spirits and we sang all the way back to the hotel- ABBA being the band of choice.

When,we finally arrived back at the hotel, we were DRENCHED!!! We had 2 hours untill we had to be back at Campi Bisenzio so we spent most of that time either getting changed or getting our hair straightened. We were running late and that meant we had to run in the rain to the bus stop otherwise we would miss it. We got there in time and just caught the bus. On the bus we were chatting away when Mrs Norton nearly fell over but ended up just doing a dance and made us all laugh. We got there and it was 7:30 pm- we were early. The man who was running the music asked us to type a song into YouTube for him to play. We chose Katy Perry's song Dark Horse and more singing took place. The party began and we had lots of food! We danced and laughed until it was very late. After we finnished the food it was time to get our certificates for being there and gifts for home- we have some wonderful things to show the teachers back at school.

We were kindly given a lift back and then it was LIGHTS OUT! A very long but interesting day.

Hope everyone is well at home...... Love from us! xxxxx

Day 3

YToday we had to wake up at 7am, again. We slept very well after a late night. This morning we traveled on the bus to Campi Bisenzio and went to the bakery to see what happens behind the scenes. They showed how to make croissants. We took lots of photos and it was a great experience. We even got to taste some of the delicious treats. Mmmmmmmmm! After that, we went on a lovely walk to one of Ornella's many schools. We were baking pasta but first we had to make it. One of the teachers taught us how to do it. First you had to add some flour and then eggs. Then add some boiling hot water to the mix.  After added a hint of salt for flavour. The mixture had to be mixed very well so we could get some good pasta. When it was mixed we added some flour to the board to make sure the dough didn't stick to the board. We put the dough on top of the flour and kneaded the dough. It got our hands very sticky and it was tricky to roll but we mastered it.

After our pasta making we went to visit the town hall and the Major's chamber were we spoke to his deputy- we will meet the major tomorrow!

After this we went back to school for lunch in the canteen with the children. It was very delicious but very noisy- not as noisy as our lunch hall though! We then had some free time and went for a short walk and some daisy picking- Miss Bell made a daisy chain- genius!

We had a short walk to the other school where Miss Bell and Mrs Norton went into a boring meeting and we played games with the other children. We taught them how to play wink murder, duck, duck, goose and what time is it mr wolf- it was very exciting and everyone loved our games!

Returning to Florence on the bus, we decided we fancied some 'English' food for tea as we were all pasta-ed out! We went to the Hard Rock Cafe and had burgers and hot dogs. Then of course, on the way back to the hotel, we went for ICE CREAM- it took everyone a while to decide as there was over 20 flavours and Frankie ended up with an ice cream beard!

Now having time to chill ready for an extremely busy day tomorrow- CAN'T WAIT!!

Day 1 & 2

We arrived at the airport at 4am. Everyone was very tired but very excited. We flew to Amsterdam first where we were given cheese and ORANGE sandwiches in the flight. Yuck! In Amsterdam airport it was VERY busy. We then flew to Florence and arrived at 12 noon. Whoooooo! We checked into the hotel and explored the city. Miss Bell and Mrs Norton had to look for tickets for our bus trips this week and we ended up going in a circle twice! But we weren't lost!!!! We finally got tickets and then it was time time for our first pizza. We all got changed and went out looking for a restaurant! Our food was delicious and we ended the evening with ICE CREAM!!!!!

It has been an extremely tiring day but we enjoyed it!

Day 2

Today we woke up at 6:00am and got ready to go for a the bus but first we went for breakfast it was yummy. When we got on the bus it was packed with people when we got off the bus it was very sunny.
We all went into a school. Some of the older children played recorder for us as a welcome thing. When they had  finished  we got ready to go to the castle.  The coach was waiting outside for us,we all got on and just sat back and relaxed. The coach journey was very long and it was really warm.  First we went to a castle and had a lovely meal. Yum!!!!!! After we were all finished, the coach was waiting for us outside. Another long coach journey was lying ahead of us. When the journey was over, we went on a walk to see some cows in their home. Next, we walked back up a rather large hill and at the top we were all exhausted. Except grace who raced up- followed closely by Miss Bell of course! ;) Then we went on the bus again and went to the butchers (Frankie ate 5 pieces of huge salami)!!!! Then we went back on the bus to the hotel. We then got changed for tea. Then we played the voice in our room!!!!!
